Vero Beach Water Treatment Maintenance Facility

The new VB Water Treatment Maintenance Facility is located off of Aviation Blvd. in Vero Beach. The Project consists of two separate buildings – a Field Services building & Maintenance building – for the Water Treatment facility located there.

The project was funded in part by the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and was subject to Davis Bacon wage requirements, Buy American requirements, FDEP regulations and other federal administrative requirements.

Summit Construction has had a positive long-standing relationship with the City of Vero Beach and City representatives were pleased with our performance on this project.

Indian River County Utilities Operations Complex, Vero Beach

This project we bid to the County in competition with 6 other Contractors. Summit was the low bidder, but all bids had come in over the County’s anticipated budget. Working together with the Architect, Engineer and Owner’s representatives, Summit was able to trim $1,000,000 off of our original bid through various engineering, design, and contractual changes, and the Project was able to move forward.

The Project consisted of two new custom pre-engineered metal buildings totaling 33,500 SF, including all site work, utilities, generators, lift station and off-site road work. All work was completed in 14 months, one month ahead of schedule. The facility serves about 300 County Utilities employees.

IRCC Maintenance Facility, Fort Pierce

This project was a Construction Management at Risk job with a very rapid schedule requirement. We completed this job in six months, which included the final stages of design that we performed with the Architect.

The building is a 30,000 SF Maintenance Facility for IRCC. It is located on a ten acre site with an expandable parking area, fuel station, full service station, vehicle maintenance, receiving area, and garage. Near project completion, the College asked us to add the infrastructure and installation of a state-of-the-art police simulator unit. We added this scope of work and completed the Project according to the original schedule requirement.
